Sunday, June 7th: CMC in-person recitals at Roncesvalles United Church

Saturday, June 13th: Last day of Musical Preludes! Parents / caregivers are invited to this last class of the term!

Sunday, June 14th: CMC online recital on zoom and in-person recitals at Roncesvalles United Church

Saturday, June 27th: Last day of lessons for the school year!
Tuesday, June 30th: First day of summer lessons!

CMC Spring Recitals

Please mark your calendars for now for the spring recital dates below (June 7th and 14th).

SCHEDULE:

SUNDAY, JUNE 7

IN-PERSON at Roncesvalles United Church:

12:30pm: cello recital (students of all cello teachers)

2pm: violin/viola recital (students of all violin & viola teachers – choose from 2pm or 3pm)

3pm: violin/viola recital (students of all violin & viola teachers – choose from 2pm or 3pm)

4pm: voice/winds recital (students of all voice & wind teachers)

5pm: adult recital (all instruments & voice for students 18+)

6pm: guitar/ukulele/bass/drums recital (students of all guitar/ukulele/bass/drum teachers)

SUNDAY, JUNE 14

ONLINE via Zoom:

10am: all instruments & voice for any teacher

IN-PERSON at Roncesvalles United Church:

1pm: piano recital (students of Josh & Riley)

2pm: piano recital (students of Cheng-Feng, Chris & Erik)

3pm: piano recital (students of Neal, Michele & Aimi)

4pm: piano recital (students of Luan, Mark & Emma)

5pm: piano recital (students of Hiro & James)

6pm: piano recital (students of Louise & Emmett)

Summer Lessons

SIGN-UP FOR SUMMER LESSONS IS NOW OPEN!

We highly recommend continuing lessons during July & August, even if it’s just a few, so that our students don’t lose what they’ve worked hard for this past year! Please complete our summer lessons form that has been emailed to you – if you didn’t receive one, please email the office at cmc@cmccanada.com.

NOTE: For summer, time slots are on a first-come, first-served basis, so reserve your summer lesson day & time now!

Summer Camp Registration

SUMMER CAMP REGISTRATION IS NOW OPEN!

Music & Art Creations Summer Camp:

A magical fun-filled week for 4-7 year olds with music, art, movement, drumming and instruments exploration!

Monday to Friday from 9am to noon, $325/week.

Week 1: July 13-17, 2026
Week 2: July 20-24, 2026

Musical Preludes

WHAT IS MUSICAL PRELUDES?

Musical Preludes is a course designed to introduce your young child to the wonderful world of music, where they learn basic musical concepts and explore various instruments such as the violin, cello, clarinet, piano and more!

Musical Preludes classes are drop-off classes, with the teacher and students only. The course has a parent observation day where parents or caregivers come to class to observe what the children have been learning. We limit the number of students to a max of 8 children per class.

The ultimate goal is for our students to experience the joy of music.

Registration is now OPEN for 2026-2027!

TERM ONE with 15 classes total: September 19, 2026 – January 23, 2027

TERM TWO with 15 classes total: February 6 – June 12, 2027

Class options for 2026-2027:

MP Junior 4-6 yr olds: Saturdays 9:00 – 9:45am

MP Intro 3-4 yr olds: Saturdays 10:00 – 10:45am

MP Junior 4-6 yr olds: Saturdays 11:00 -11:45am

COST:

$435 per term

$825 total for 2 terms if you register for both at the same time – a savings of $45!

Teachers Upcoming Gigs & Releases!

Max

Max will be playing drums for an artist named Paitra on June 10th at The Cameron House as a part of NXNE.

Brandon

The Brokes are playing the FIFA Fan Festival Toronto at Fort York and the Bentway on Thursday June 18th! This is an all ages event with Match Broadcasts, Live Entertainment, food and drink vendors and more.

Maya (Piano)

1. How old were you when you first started music?

Age 6

2. Why did you choose the instrument you currently play?

I chose the piano because my mom played it when she was younger, and I had fun playing on a keyboard one year at Christmas.

3. What do you like most about your music teacher?

I like that Josh is funny, easy going, and that he wears different coloured socks.

4. Do you have a favourite piece to play?

I like playing All of Me, by John Legend.

5. If you could play any other instrument, what would it be?

I would also like to play the xylophone!

6. What do you like to do in your spare time?

In my spare time, I like to do gymnastics, track and field, and play basketball.

7. Who are some of your musical inspirations?

I really like Sia, Tracy Chapman (Fast Car), and Jann Arden (Good Mother).

8. What do you like most about CMC?

I like that I can hear lots of different music when I go in, but that I also have to be quiet.
