Sharon Heldt - Gleesical Drama Coach & Director

A drama teacher for over 18 years, Sharon Heldt has experience teaching all age groups from SK - grade 12 and has directed & dramaturged over 40 children's productions.

Most recently Sharon has gone back to her roots and directed / choreographed several large scale musicals, including Howard Public School's Seussical, The Musical and the 2012 production of The Jungle Book.

Sharon's teaching experience includes several other venues including YPT, Theatre Aquarius (Hamilton), Etobicoke School of the Arts, Cawthra School of the Arts and various schools within the TDSB. Sharon also coaches stduetns privately for theatre and film auditions, most recently for Bongo Productions.

As a professional actor in theatre/ film / television Sharon has 28 years experience in the business. A graduate of Humber College Theatre Arts Program, Sharon is equally at home on the musical theatre stage. Sharon has worked all over Canada, most notably the Stratford Festival, Blyth Festival, Grand Theatre, Theatre Aquarius, Manitoba Theatre Company, Banff Advanced Actors’ Workshop, Tarragon Theatre, Factory Theatre, Theatre Passe Muraille, Buddies in Bad Times, Drayton Festival, Theatre Collingwood and the last season on the treasured Red Barn stage in Jackson’s Point. Sharon also spent some time over the border performing in the New York City Musical Theatre Festival (NYCMF) with Top Gun! The Musical. Sharon is also a member of the Alley Theatre Co-op and performed in Abu Gharib Tryptic. Film and T.V. credits include, Queer as Folk (Showtime), Avenging Angelo (Warner Brothers), Missing (Showtime), More Tears (CBC), and Borrowed Hearts (CBS). Sharon also belongs to a singing group, DIVA MOMS and sings along with the 3 DADS, a professional ensemble hired for community events.
