Jane Yang - Violin

Jane Yang is an active Korean-Canadian artist in solo, chamber, and orchestral scenes. She has also participated in many masterclasses and coachings with renowned artists such as Sylvia Rosenberg, Jacques Israelivitch, Marietta Orlov, Marie Berard, Gryphon Trio, St. Lawrence String Quartet, Tokyo String Quartet, members of the Emerson Quartet, members of the Orion Quartet, Ian Swensen, Robert Ushida, and most recently, Stephen Isserlis. 

She attended the Etobicoke School of the Arts where she first received recognition from the community and was given several awards. She also won the annual Concerto Competition in 2005 and performed Dvorak's Violin Concerto in A minor with the ESA Symphony Orchestra. Other opportunities thereafter include the Toronto Symphony Youth Orchestra, Korean-Canadian Symphony Orchestra, and several music festivals throughout North America. In December 2007, she was given an opportunity to perform at Carnegie Hall for the New York String Orchestra Seminar '07. She has reappeared as concertmaster and has served since 2007 for the University of Toronto Symphony Orchestra under Raffi Armenian and David Briskin. 

She is also a founded member of the Toronto-based piano trio, Fidele Trio and was awarded Second Place in the Felix Galimir Chamber Music Competition in 2009. In the summer of 2009, she was an apprentice in Boris Brott's National Academy Orchestra. She now holds a B.Mus in Violin Performance and was under the tutelage of Mark Skazinetsky, and Annalee Patipatanakoon, member of The Gryphon Trio. Currently, she is teaching, performing and continuing to explore different avenues within music. Jane is looking forward to working with the faculty and students at the Classical Music Conservatory.
